Five lecturers from three departments of Nnamdi Azikiwe University are now suspended, the lecturers who come from departments of Pure and Industrial Chemistry, Electronics & Computer Engineering of the University have been suspended over their alleged involvement in examination offenses.
While remarking on this the school’s Director of Publications, Mr Emma Ojukwu, further stated that the instructors were suspended on March 2 for three months and placed on half-salary pending the result of the Senior Staff Disciplinary Committee Report.
He further uncovered that the teachers were discovered helping their students in answering questions, collecting money to award marks frivolously to undeserving students in the first semester of the 2013/2014 academic-session.
Other alleged offenses were neglecting to submit examination attendance list, collecting cash from students for results upgrade, sharp practices and inconsistencies in result sheets.
